Jacques Maritain’s Understanding of the Freedom of Conscience, and the European Integration.Dan Đaković - 2023 - Filozofska Istrazivanja 43 (2):383-394.
In the context of European integration, the great French Christian philosopher Jacques Maritain and his influence on the European project in the mid-20th century are mentioned very rarely. This paper seeks to shed some light on his somehow hidden role in this context, especially given the central role of freedom of conscience within the personalist philosophical heritage to which Maritain belonged and the political philosophy he shaped, which had a key impact on the European project and its basic documents. Freedom (...)

Le naturalisme esthétique de John Dewey.Ewa Chudoba, Gabriela Trujillo & Alexandre Gefen - 2015 - Nouvelle Revue d'Esthétique 15 (1):23-31.

The Development of a Coding Scheme for Intergenerational Learning and Its Application to the Patterns of Intergenerational Collaborative Communication.Ya-Ling Wang - 2021 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
Much research has focused on intergenerational learning. However, its patterns and processes have rarely been explored. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a coding scheme for intergenerational learning, and to explore the patterns of collaborative communication emerging in the context of intergenerational learning. A total of 16 individuals participated in the study. Participants were invited to design digital games with their intergenerational team members. Of all the interactions, two sets of collaborative interactions were coded and analyzed. The findings revealed that (...)

From Autonomy to Relation.

Posthumanist Solidarity: The Political and Ethical Imaginations of Artificial Intelligence from Battlestar Galactica to Raised by Wolves.Alexandre Gefen - 2021 - Open Philosophy 5 (1):136-142.
A number of twenty-first century television series explore the irruption of AI devices into our daily lives, highlighting not only human interaction with AI, but posing disturbing and new ontological considerations: humans wondering how they are different from machines, or those of machines being unaware that they are machines and only discovering so belatedly. Within these series, the emergence of these thoughts is accompanied by the staging of interspecies friendship and romance: the metaphysical question of freedom gives way to the (...)

Definable homomorphisms of abelian groups in o-minimal structures.Ya'acov Peterzil & Sergei Starchenko - 1999 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 101 (1):1-27.
We investigate the group of definable homomorphisms between two definable abelian groups A and B, in an o-minimal structure . We prove the existence of a “large”, definable subgroup of . If contains an infinite definable set of homomorphisms then some definable subgroup of B admits a definable multiplication, making it into a field. As we show, all of this can be carried out not only in the underlying structure but also in any structure definable in.
